What We Collect
Sims 4 Mod Fixer is a desktop application that does its scanning and quarantine work on your computer. We collect minimal data:
- Purchase information: When you buy the app through LemonSqueezy, they collect your email and payment details to process the transaction. We receive your email and order details, never your payment card details.
- Nothing from inside the app: the desktop app has no usage analytics, no crash reporting, and no account system. It does not send us anything about you, your computer, or your mods.
What We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect, upload, or transmit your mod files, game files, or folder contents
- We do not collect your Sims 4 account credentials
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties
- We do not track your browsing activity outside the app
Local Data
All scanning, diagnosis, and quarantine work happens locally on your computer. Your mod files and scan results are analyzed on your machine and are not uploaded for analysis. The app stores its scan results, quarantine records, settings, and quarantine vault in your local app data folder.
Third-Party Services
- LemonSqueezy: Processes payments and delivers your download. Their privacy policy.
- Update check (GitHub): each time the app opens, it asks our release page on GitHub whether a newer version exists. That request is an ordinary web download of a small version file and reaches GitHub the way any download does (including your IP address). No update is installed unless you click Update. GitHub's privacy statement.
- Google Fonts: when the app opens, its screens load two typefaces from Google Fonts. That request reaches Google's font servers the way any website does (including your IP address) and involves no mod data or scan data. Offline, the app uses your system font.
- Links you click: creator pages, search links, and support links open in your normal web browser and are governed by those sites' policies.
Website Analytics & Advertising
This applies to our website (sims4modfixer.com), not the desktop app. Our website uses Google Ads (gtag) to measure traffic and advertising conversions, and it sets advertising cookies. Visitors are asked to consent before any advertising or analytics cookies are set — you can accept or decline using the cookie banner at the bottom of the page. If you decline, those cookies are not stored. The desktop app itself contains no analytics.
Your Rights
You can request deletion of any data we hold about you by emailing us. Since we store almost nothing server-side, this is straightforward.
Children
Sims 4 Mod Fixer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
